7 As a result, the Canadian framework integrates ethical and technical dimensions and elements across several transversal skills to ensure that digital skills remain human centred. Transversal skills are the focus with technology and ethical elements integrated. However, it is to be noted that these relate to digital competencies in a broad context not an educational context. Other research has highlighted the need to focus on adapting competency models these to consider ‘ broader and more inclusive concepts of digital literacy and digital fluency .’ (Marín & Castañeda, 2022).
