2nd Work Package

This work package explores the challenges facing educational leaders in the digital age. A report is produced to inform policy makers and the wider education community. These challenges are captured in scenarios, which are hosted in the digital hub to support professional development activities, in particular cross-institutional ones.

Identify the key challenges, problems and dilemmas facing pre-service and in-service teachers in a digital era in the context of the digital leadership ecosystem

The aim of this work package is to identify the main challenges faced by practising and trainee teachers and educational leaders in the context of digital leadership.

Outputs

  • A report on the current and future challenges facing digital educational leaders.
  • Narrative scenarios of the challenges and their impact on the educational community, which are published on the Digital Hub.

The work package uses the components of the IDEAL Futures Teacher Academy: Professional Development Model as a basis for data collection. In particular, it considers the challenges they face from the context of their own praxis and beliefs, within their school communities, considering challenges associated with Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, digital literacies, digital infrastructure, digital pedagogies and curriculum reform, across school contexts, considering challenges associated with open leadership and innovation.

The identified challenges are available on the IDEAL Future digital hub, where educators will be able to vote on whether the issue is relevant to them. They will also be able to add details to the problem and post comments on how this problem affects their educational context. Challenges will continue to be added to the digital hub throughout the project, particularly as participants engage in reflective practice.

You can access online freely to the Challenges and Professional Learning Needs of Digital Educational Leaders and download the document through this Flipbook.
