3th Work Package
This work package systematically explores transformative pedagogical approaches to professional development (PD) and pre-service and in-service teachers’ experiences of engaging in PD. It has developed a pedagogical model for the delivery of the PD framework outlined in the proposal (at individual, school and inter- organisational levels).
Development of Pedagogical Model
The objective of this work package is to develop a pedagogical model to support teachers to engage in transformative dialogue and collaborative approaches to rofessional development, in order to enable them to address real world challenges.
The team have conducted a systematic review of transformative approaches to professional development through the use of digital technologies, exploring the various models, the impact on practice, key success factors and the successful use of technology to support such. In particular, digital problem-based learning, digital challenge-based learning, digital transformative learning, the use of digital technologies in supporting communities of inquiry, professional learning communities and relational pedagogy in an online environment.
Surveys and interviews will be conducted to empathise with pre-service and in-service staff, to understand the difficulties they face in engaging in PD and how to support them in developing their digital educational leadership skills. This will be used to develop a pedagogical model, which will support the design of content, learning activities and the digital hub.
